SANI ®Technology

  Technology introduction:“SANI Technology”is a new energy-saving low carbon sewage treatment technology, by research group of Professor Chen Guanghao from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(HKUST) , co-promoted by Kinghome Environmental Technologies(China)Co., Ltd and HKUST.Full name of SANI Technology: Sulfate reduction Antotrophic denitrification and Nitrification Integrated. It is mainly applied to treatment of sanitary waste seawater in coastal region.

  Technical Principles

  Technical principle: compared with traditional activated sludge carbob-nitrogen cycle technology, SANI technology introduces sulfur cycle and separate carbon-nitrogen cycle successfully by sulfur cycle. It utilizes sulfate in salt waste water as electron carrier skillfully, oxidize organic pollutant in waste water by reduction process of biology anaerobic sulfate, and produces basicity to make a large number of electrons flow to SO by alienation metabolism and produces soluble sulfide. On the contrary, as few electrons flow to assimilation metabolism, sludge rate is reduced significantly. However, sulfides carrying many electrons have not accomplished their mission. hey will flow to anoxic reactor with water to provide electrons for autotrophic denitrification, and turn to nitrogen by nitrate nitrogen generated in the process of nitrifying process via autotrophic denitrification, so as to remove nitrogen biologically. By sulfide cycle, SANI technology not only reduces oxygen consumption in COD removal process but also realizes zero release of surplus sludge by three biochemical reaction with low sludge yield. Sludge yield of SANI technology is only 0.04gvss/g COD—removed, about 10% of restricted activated sludge technology.

  Technical Advantage

  ① No primary settling tank or secondary sedimentation tank, zero release of surplus sludge

  ② Dispose high-salt municipal wastewater (flushing seawater), prevent foul smell generation effectively, which is of great significance to seawater flushing popularization and saving of fresh water resource

  ④ Conduct research on sulfur circulation DS-EBPR technology(BioP-SANI) , explore new approach to biological enhancement phosphorous removal and basic research.
